Problems connecting Lorawan VE.Direct

I have spent some time getting the VE.Direct Lorawan module to connect

(70B3D5499F1A18E8)

From the manual:

https://www.victronenergy.com/live/vedirect_lorawan?_ga=2.31161279.109376482.1668508279-1267732358.1668508279

Assembly instructions

  1. Screw the antenna onto the LoRaWAN Module
  2. Mount the LoRaWAN Module close to the device you wish to monitor
  3. Connect the VE.Direct cable between devices
  4. Connect the DC Power (8V - 68V, looking to the module with green connector below of the module, the positive is on the left)
  5. After a short wait the LED will blink green indicating that all is OK
  6. Go to the VRM Portal to add your installation

I have powered the device with a 12V powersupply

I just keeps flashing red/blue, steady read, blue/red flash

It never blinks green.

I have setup a TheThingsnetwork gateway (Microtik Knot) and I have place the device within 20meter and over 100meters and 2 concrete walls away:

The Mirotik router has been setup accordingly to the documentation (https://www.thethingsnetwork.org/docs/gateways/mikrotik/)

I can see from the TTN interfacet its running (see below)

Do you have any hints on what could cause this?

If I try to claim the device on the VRM portal it will not let me do so (and I would suspect because it has not reached out to the VRM portal yet with the green led)

LoRaWAN with Smart Battery Sensor

I have a LoRaWAN Gateway setup connected to a SmartSolar MPPT 100/20 via the VE.Direct – been working great. (...and I can't use LTE adapter, since the site has no cell service.)

EXCEPT, I also have a Smart Battery Sensor in the system too and VRM never shows any "battery temp" stuff in the VRM for the site. It shows temp in the Victron app locally via BT... but really like to know/monitor the temp remotely.

But it seems the MPPT doesn't relay the bluetooth data...is that expected, or a bug someplace? 2nd question is the MPPT 100/20 even using the Battery Sensor for anything since it not relay the data to VRM?

Lorawan VRM Setup

I have connected a Lorawan module to my MPPT charge controller with the hope of seeing some useful information on the VRM tool. When I started the VRM tool I was able to add the Lorawan module and the app shows "Status OK" under My Installations. But this was over a day ago now and I don't see any more information.

Please can someone advise if I have done something wrong in the setup? Is there some other settings needed before the module and VRM can start reading/showing data?

Do I need to create an account on https://www.thethingsnetwork.org/ and somehow link this with the VRM tool?

Many thanks!

I can´t add VE.Direct LoRaWAN to VRM Portal

As you can see in the screen captured below, the TTN Gateway and Server are receiving the VE.Direct module join request, but this information is being forwarded to the VRM portal because it can recognize the ID. I am supposing that we have a problem in the API between TTN and VRM. Who can verify it for me?

Smart shunt and Lorawan

Hi

I have just bought a Victron Smatt Shunt and noticed the very low bluethooth signal range. So i want to extend that and if possible by connecting the shunt to the internet.

I already use lorawan in my Camper/RV. It has a TTN gateway and a LTE modem. So i would very much like to connect the Smart shunt by the Victron lorawan module. BUT I read the shunt is not supported though it does have a ve.direct port.

Has anyone tried it as suggested in this tread? .https://community.victronenergy.com/questions/79235/smartshunt-vedirect-lorawan-are-compatible-to-send.html

LoRaWAN, Bluetooth, Raspberry Pi

I am in country with limited product availablity. I ordered for a client two Victron systems. Two BlueSolar MPPT, Two SmartShunts and two LoRaWAN. I realize now I should have purchased SmartSolar MPPT and BVM-712. I promised the client Bluetooth and Internet connection for their hotel. My distributor doesn’t carry SmartSolar, Bluetooth dongle or BVM-712. They do however have a BVM-702 but, doesn’t solve the Bluetooth and limited VE.Direct. I hope that Raspberry Pi could solve this issue. Any suggestions?
