update for Mutiplus- will it erase my old data and config

after reading the Multiplus update steps via the VRM, it says to save all data as the update for V4 to V5 will clear all settings.

this should not be the case with modern s/w designs.

I have MultiPlus 12/3000/120-50 120V with V 473 and

want to update to v510

Am i safe to update the Multiplus from VRM and not worry about data loss

or

do i have to follow the complicated process of saving and re doing all the config steps over again

It is clearly documented that an update will in most cases clear the configuration. Vrm process has the steps to reload the configuration built in.

If you do not properly understand nor follow the process you will end up with a problem.

As in most cases, just read the manual.
