What settings should i put my charge controller on for a lithium ion battery

Hi all,

Quite new to this, hoping somone can help me with my set up

I have a 12v 50ah lithium ion battery

80w solar panel


75/15 bluetooth mppt victron charge controller



I am unsure on what the best setting is.

Hi, using the phone/tablet victron app called victronconnect,

Using the bluetooth dongle you change the setting in the settings menu under battery then Battery preset

select preset scroll down factory default then select Select preset

select setting and in there select the lithium battery type option.

For others reading this: The only Lithium battery preset on the MPPT charge controller is Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePo4) and this is definitely not a good setting for Lithium Ion.

It will vary a little depending on the specific cells but if you charge to 4V per cell and cut off the load at 3V per cell * however many cells you have in series you should be good.
