Has anyone used High Powered Alternator from M2K Inc?
Looking at installing a 350amp alternator with SmartShunt in DC meter mode.

this will work fine, I would suggest that you also get a wakespeed external regulator to control the alternators output. also make sure your batteries can take a 350 amp charge
Any battery recommendations?
Starter is currently, 1 x R34 Optima Redtop (Have)
2nd Battery under hood, 1 x D27 Optima Yellowtop (Have)
Camper Batteries, 2 x 200amp Victron Lithium LiFePO4 Batteries (Have)
Rear of Patrol, 3 x 200amp Victron Lithium LiFePO4 Batteries (To get)
The victron batteries are very good and good backup if you have any issues
I use a 24v 100amp alternator with a wakespeed a smartshunt , my batteries are 16 x eve 304a/h cells configured in a 2p8s setup with a 123smart bms interfaced to the cerbo so fully digital shutdown if a cell issue occurs (Also why I use the wake speed as well as it also responds to the overcharge bms data). and solar is two strings of 800 watt each (2 x 400 panels in parallel) panels with a 150-45 mppt reg on each string.

of note whatever alternator you get its the overheating of the high powered units thats the big issue as well, again the wakespeed reg can reduce output based on heat as well. I presume you are taking about a 12 voilt system at 350 amps, also consider the power used to make 350 amps as at 12 volt thats over 4kw (ruffly) so make sure you are using serpentine belts DO NOT USE V Belts

I've not looked in detail, but would point out that the shunt will only record/report current passing through it. If there's a significant current going through the wakespeed, it won't be seen by the shunt.
With feedback from Wakespeed/Dragonfly, some changes, cables and they support the SmartShunt, but are ok with the BMV 712.
