Victron IP22 3 output 30A Charger is 8awg safe?

20231229-140054.jpgHello,New to electrical and new to Victron.I have sourced three 206Ah SOK batteries for my house battery in parallel.
The IP22 charger accepts up to 8awg but my battery bank has 4/0 cables. Is it safe to charge them up with my IP22 charger and the 8awg? Do I need to have a fuse or circuit breaker?

Right now, I do not have any other components in my van other than the 3 batteries, Victron IP22 and 1000watt inverter.

Thank you all and have a safe holidays!

Not knowing the distance you need to run the wire perhaps this chart will help: https://www.engineeringtoolbox.com/amps-wire-gauge-d_730.html

As for fuses yes it would be wise to use them to protect the wires from overheating and possible fires. Happy Holidays to you as well.
