What is VE.BMS v2

Hi guys,

In the recent Victron Connect beta ChangeLog I noticed the following firmware change for a VE.Bus Smart Dongle:

- Add firmware v1.12:

- Add support for VE.Bus BMS V2 (enables on/off/charger-only selection in combination with VE.Bus BMS V2)


And my question is what is the VE.Bus BMS V2? If I understand the description correctly it will be possible to turn off/on/charger only the Multiplus via the dongle, while using the VE.Bus BMS, which has been requested many times for years. Great news if true :)


I tried to upgrade the firmware on my Smart Dongle, but the option to turn on/off/charger only via dongle is still grayed out.


What am I missing please? Will I need to replace the VE.Bus BMS unit?

The VE.Bus BMS V2 is a new hardware version of the VE.Bus BMS.
It is still in development and there is no release date now.

Matthias, ich habe versucht euch telefonisch zu erreichen und auch eine eMail geschickt. Keine Reaktion - könnten wir morgen mal über eure Büronummer telefonieren? Gruß Thomas

Wie vermutlich alle in der Branche, haben wir aktuell sehr viel zu tun und haben einen Stau an Anfragen, sodass mit 2-3 Wochen Bearbeitungszeit zu rechnen ist.

Zudem bin ich diese Woche mit der Installation einer größeren Anlage beschäftigt und habe daher nicht wirklich Zeit für längere Telefonate.

Anfragen per Mail werden nach und nach beantwortet, braucht aber aktuell seine Zeit.

Auch mit Terminen für Installationen von Anlagen sind wir, auch auf Grund z.T. schlechter Verfügbarkeit diverser Komponenten, für die nächsten Monate ausgebucht.
