micro SD card not detected on Venus GX

I have this strange issue since always... I have a VenusGX for some years now, and I never got it to detect any SD card. Never really needed it, but now I'm curious. What could be the problem?

Today I ejected and replaced by another card, 2 GB size, FAT32. Same result, no "storage found".

What is really strange is that the original SD card, 1 GB, FAT 32 when put on PC shows this:

It has files, one is from yesterday!

What is going on here? Why VEnus can't detect it but does write in to it?

Hi, where do you see “no storage found”?

and what do you want to do with the card?

Hi, I see it in 3 different places in Venus OS:

1. Settings - VRM Online Portal

2. Settings - Backup & Restore

3. Seetings - Firmware - Install firmware from SD/USB

Well, it turns out the SD cards weren't formatted in FAT32. They were in FAT16.

I formatted (both, just to double check) in FAT32 and now both work. I think they should have worked with FAT16, at least is what the manual says, but here you have it, with FAT32 there are no issues - might be of some help to someone.

hi, just for the record: we formatted a card with FAT16, tested it in a cerbo and a venus gx, and it works in both.

so perhaps its a flaky (semi damaged and thus unreliable) card, I've seen that before (and quite often).

Thanks for the info. Yes, it could be. Both the 1GB and the 2GB SD cards are quite old.
