Add more generator stop options in GX

It would be interesting if the generator stop can be configured with the GX device when the inverter goes into absorption plus a time or float plus a time. Just with the voltage and time, sometimes it doesn't work properly. For example, with the generator charging, if it is above the programmed voltage and due to clouds there is a reduction in solar production, it is possible that the voltage drops below the programmed value and the counter resets. After a while, the inverter floats, which is a voltage value lower than the one programmed, and the generator does not stop.

Through the inverter configuration it can be done. But with GX device it is NOT possible. I think it would be very easy for victron to add these options in the GX.

Easily achievable with node red.

Although not ideal, there are a few things you can do in the gx to try to minimize the problem. You can set the maximum generator run time to a value that should "in theory" provide ample time to achieve a charge to a desired level. Another option is to set the shutdown voltage just above the start voltage with a time delay to what you believe the generator would be able to produce a full charge.

Another option would be to use node red. With node red you could set just about any parameters you choose. Also consider using SOC as the trigger instead of battery voltage.

No hay que minimizar el problema, hay que dar una solucion simple y que funcione sin añadir cosas.

As Derrick suggested, SOC is probably the best way to insure the batteries are fully charged before stopping the generator. Voltage is really a poor indicator of battery state given the charge/load current affects voltage as well. Voltage to state of charge is really for an idle battery that has no charge/load current for a period of time.

True, the battery charger in say the inverter will indirectly indicate the SOC has reached 100%, but in a typical system, there are multiple chargers that may not be in the same state due to small differences in voltage.
