data communication problem between MultiPlus-II and BYD BMU

When we try to connect the "VE.Bus" port of Victron multiPlus-II 48/8000/110-100 230V to "inverter" port of BYD battery BMU through a standard Internet LAN cable, the power supply of loads goes off. Cant a normal cable be used for this purposes and the cable must be modified?

Please read the Victron/BYD config guide.

You do not connect the VE BUS to anything but Victron devices.

The BMU is CAN and BMS.CAN at that.

The system will shutoff if you connect the wrong device to the VE BUS.

The BYD is connected to the CERBO BMS CAN port, which in turn connects to the inverter via VE BUS.

Very basic stuff.

@mmoradza

Did you read the BYD manual? It describes the cable needed and it connects to a Victron GX.

The Victron BYD online manual also describes how to program and connect.
