This behaviour is very disappointing since I mainly wanted to use it for the underdischarge notifications that don't work. Victron please fix this ASAP!
this is the way how all Victron Bluetooth devices work. There is nothing to fix.
If you want under voltage notifications in real time, you either have VictronConnect always running in foreground on your mobile device (iOS or Android) or get a GX device (CCGX, Venus GX, Cerbo GX, Raspberry Pi with Venus OS) and connect it to your SmartShunt via VE.Direct. Then hook up the GX device to your internet and VRM to receive notifications in real time for example via email.
