RJ45 wiring, old to new

Good morning.

I have just replaced an old (1994) Victron Atlas 24V 2500W for a Victron Phoenix 24V 3000W. Can somebody tell me if it is possible to put an RJ45 plug onto the existing cable to the remote Inverter Control panel? I have plugs, just need the wire sequence. Thanks. Tim

Unfortunately, that panel is not compatible with your modern Phoenix.
The RJ45 connector in the modern equipment is used for VE.Bus data connectivity, not point-to-point wring like the Altas uses.

You'd need a "Phoenix Control" panel to have remote control of your Phoenix.

@WKirby Thank you for your reply. Do you know if I could use the existing cable and put plugs on either end? The cable run is very long and unfortunately there is no chance of replacing it. Kind regards. Tim

I would be surprised if it did work over that cable, especially if it is very long.
VE.Bus is based on RS-485, it needs a twisted pair for the data channel, like an ethernet cable.
