Color Controller looses AC Input and AC Loads Data

Multi 48/5000 with 3 x 2.5kWh BYD, solar array, all firmware up to date.

This is a intermittent issue and it seems to present itself as if the VE Bus cable has been disconnected from the Inverter (see pic).

The system continues to function but no longer feeds the Loads from PV.

There are no error codes, the pics below give you some indication that there is something wrong. These pics show two different instances.

Swapped out the CCGX as well as UTP cable, problem persists, if you power the Inverter down and then up again the system restores itself and all functions well until the next time (which can be days or even weeks) as the pics will show.

The CCGX screen shot below shows NO AC, Inverter OFF and NO Loads, trust me they are there, the AC is feeding the loads even though it's not showing so! PV just feeds battery in this instance.

Hi @PeterS

It sounds like you've tried all options (CCGX, cable)

One more thing you have to double check: is there a (CANbus) terminator incorrectly placed in a VE.Bus socket? this can cause the intermittend error as described (the terminators are only for VE.Can, not for VE.Bus)

If that also checks out, please contact your dealer for repair of the unit.
