I have a Multiplus Compatc 12|1600|70 that is controlled by a VE. BUS MULTI CONTROL. When removing the panel and adding som pressure to the CAT5 ethernet cable the Panel starts. Any one experienced this behavior, and have you found the root cause?
If i´m to change panel, can I upgrade to something better?
Hi Rickard. This reeks of a faulty cable, poor contacts or suchlike. Try a cable change.
Thanks JohnC, I will try with new cable. My feeling was though that it was on the female connector side soldered to the PCA. Have you tried to solder that connector?
If this doesn't work out, any idea of another display that works?
Never soldered one myself, but solder repairs are-as-they-are. Have a go if needed.
Perhaps over the years Victron have 'remodelled/improved' these, but to suggest something 'better' might depend on what you're using it to do. There are other ways to do this stuff, but mightn't suit you.
For now, see how you go repairing what you have..
