VRM transmission size

I am trying to find a satellite modem that is suitable for use with the Cerbo-GX and need to know the size of a data packet in a transmission to the VRM. I have got some figures based on how much storage space is used divided by the number of records stored but was wondering if there are any more official, average figures.

Hi @Jake Wadey,

It’s extremely variable based on the size of the system you have, and even the time of day.

My ESS system with parallel MultiPlus-II and a couple of MPPTs, is reporting to 3 different Victron servers every 5 minutes;

The main data packet is ccgxlogging

At 10:58 PM, with no solar production, it is 17 kB.

At 1:48 PM, with maximum solar production, it is 46 kB.

There is no average, as a Victron system ranges in scale from a 12V caravan to a 180 kVA industrial plant.
