VictronConnect app can't see Quattro using a Cerbo GX Bluetooth

I am able to see all my devices and can see my Quattro inverter from the Cerbo GX console but it does not show up in the VictronConnect app on my phone. I thought I would be able to connect to the Quattro with Bluetooth. Does this require the VE.Bus Smart Dongle in order to see it from the phone app?

VE.bus devices don't have Bluetooth build-in.

You need a VE.bus Bluetooth dongle for that. But you won't be able to see or change settings with that!

The BT dongle only shows some stats and you can switch the device to ON/OFF.

To change settings you need a MK3 Interface or you use remote VE.config via the VRM Portal.

@jasonsele,

3.3. VE.Bus Smart dongle limitations

When connected over bluetooth, using the VE.Bus Smart Dongle, only status data, voltages, and other information can be read. And it can be operated: switch between On, Off and Charger-only mode, and set a Shore current input limit. No changes can be made to the product.

An MK3-USB is required to change settings and perform firmware updates and settings. And, as that requires a USB port, it is not possible to change inverter/charger configuration or perform firmware updates on a Apple iPad or iPhone.

VictronConnect does not work with the MK2-USB.

It appears you can change your input current limit.

I'd prefer to be able to change from 50amp to 30amp for AC input from the victronconnect app. Does that work? Also, I have dual Quattros set in split phase so I have the VE.bus connection from the Cerbo to the Quattro 1 port and the out from the Quattro 1 to Quattro 2. That leaves me one port to plug in the dongle. Will one dongle show both devices or do I need two?
