MultiPlus II 3000 2x120...battery temp sensor wires short so plugged temp sensor into Cerbo GX. Will the MultiPlus II get battery temp from Cerbo?

I'm new to using Victron equipment. Just completed instal in RV. MultiPlus II 3000 2x120, MPPT 150/70, Orion 12-12 charger, SmartShunt 500, Lynx distribution, Cerbo GX and touch 50.

The MultiPlus battery temp sensor wires are to short to reach by about 3 feet, so I plugged the temp sensor into the Cerbo GX. Will the MultiPlus II get battery temp from Cerbo? Or should I add 3 feet of length to the wires and connect directly to the MultiPlus?

Thanks,

Dave

You would need to enable DVCC and select it as a shared temp sensor.

This presumes all the devices are conected to the Cerbo.

Thanks. Yes, all devices are connected to the Cerbo GX. I will enable DVCC and select it as a shared temp sensor.

I must be doing something wrong. Temp sensor does not show up in DCVV configuration screen.

Change the box above from automatic to manual. It should appear in the list.

Also check under settings -> IO -> analogue that the ports are enabled (requires a reboot to apply the change)

Ports probably disabled, so go check the settings in I/O as mentioned above.

Last question on DCVV.

Should I have all the other options turned on, i.e., shared voltage sense, shared current sense?

Thanks again for your help...

It depends on your setup and batteries.

Supported lithium batteries, for example, automatically force the right settings on.

For conventional batteries it needs to be done manually.

Have a look at the DVCC docs, here is an extract to help.

For lead acid you definitely want to limit the charge current to something appropriate for the bank.
