SoC jumping to 100% in minutes.

My SoC is jumping to 100% every day at around 2:44am.

This behaviour is new and I did not change any settings the last few weeks. I think this could be firmware-update related, due to some similar threads I found here.

The BMS is just for Cell protection. I use the SmartShunt 500 to measure the SoC.

The drop-off of the SoC after the 100% is me manually adjusting the SoC via Victron Connect on the SmartShunt.

This figure shows, that the voltage is acting normally.

Did you ever resolve this?

I have recently installed an ESS system (Mulitplus 48v 5000, SmartShunt, DIY Lifepo4 battery with JK BMS not connected to Victron) and each day for the past 3 days the SOC has jumped to 100% unexpectedly. It always seems to happen when it is charging/discharging while the solar is fluctuating (ie cloud comes over and it moves from charging the batteries to inverting from the batteries). It is driving me mad as the rest of the system is working great. This is a screen shot of yesterday:

My only thought currently is that the smartshunt is wired after the battery BMS and perhaps i could try wiring the smart shunt between the battery and the BMS? Any help much appreciated.

The shunt is either installed or configured incorrectly.

Everything you need is clearly documented in its manual.

I use the BMS (JK-BMS 150A) just for Cell Protection. The BMS ist connected to my SmartHome/Database to monitor some values, but it is not connected to the Victron System in any way.

The actual measuring is done by the Victron SmartShunt.

And what are the shunt settings? You sure they didn’t change post update?

If the shunt is syncing then the 3 criteria have been met.

What are the battery charging settings in the multis and mppts?
