Connecting Inverter to Raspberry Pi

Hi all,

I have a MultiPlus-II 12V/3000kVA/120-50 2x120V that I am trying to interface with Venus OS installed on a Raspberry Pi.

I am unclear on how to connect these two devices. Are you supposed to just connect via RJ45 ethernet cable or do you need to connect the RJ45 to a MK3-USB Interface and then connect to the Raspberry Pi? I have been told you only connect the MK3 when configuring the inverter. At the same time, my inverter errors out and stops working if I don't use the MK3

Thanks!

You need the MK3 USB to VE.Bus dongle to connect your Multi to the Pi.

Use UTP patchcable. Best to use the original one supplied by Victron.

I have a smart dongle that is connected to a Lynx Distributor and the inverter. That works for that part, right? And then connect the inverter to the Pi via MK3?
