Will the Smartshunt IP65 (500A) work with BMV-712

I really like the functionality of the BMV-712 but I need to mount the shunt in my engine bay where there is a possibility of getting wet. Knowing the shunt that comes with the BMV-712 cannot get wet purchased the smart shunt IP65 to take it's place.

After looking at them I starting to wonder if they're compatible. The only way to connect the two would be through a VE Direct cable.

Here is my question, are the BMV-712 and Smartshunt IP65 compatible via the VE cable?

The 712 monitor is driven by the supplied cable, not VE.Direct. VE.Direct connection is for output to a GX device such as a Cerbo. The shunt isn't compatible.
