Rs485 issues over Ethernet - connection drop?

Hi there

I’ve got my current ET340 meter communicating over Ethernet to RS485 (waveshare). But every now and again they seem to loss communication for no reason. A reboot of each waveshare normally fixes the issue but anyone with an idea why it’s happening?

Hi all I'm bumping this again as I'm having so many troubles with this connection.
Now even after rebooting each wave share device the connection doesn't restore; some combination of pulling the VE usb to RS485 and rebooting everything gets it to respond.

I'm beginning to think the VE usb to RS485 cable is the issue; its worth noting the lights on the cable (red flashes randomly, and the green light when it flashes when the connection works but its normally completely off when the connection is broken.

The wave share devices are ping with maximum of 1ms response; they are always accessible on the network.

Would really like some input if anyone can help.
