Understanding Switch Functionality of Cerbo GX Between Different Ports

Greetings Victron community,

I have a question related to the previous discussion here, but I'd like to separate it and make it a more generic Cerbo GX-related question.

What should end-users expect when it comes to the communication of different devices directly with each other when connected to different ports of the Cerbo GX?

For instance, I am currently observing the REC-ABMS connected to the BMS-Can port of Cerbo GX successfully communicating with devices on VE.Direct and VE.Bus ports. My question is, should I expect the same connectivity (switch-like network functionality) between the BMS-Can and VE.Can ports of Cerbo GX?

I appreciate any insights and experiences the community can share regarding the intercommunication capabilities of different ports on the Cerbo GX.

Thank you.

I found the answer in Cerbo GX manual: https://www.victronenergy.com/media/pg/Cerbo_GX/en/connecting-victron-products.html#UUID-86f0c9ce-19b8-9f83-6745-de4b950fc268

"VE.Can and BMS-Can cannot be combined on the same bus. If you wish to use both, they require a GX device with two separate buses, each with 2 RJ45 ports - 4 CANbus ports in total."

@bonsys The Victron website contains a wealth of information already and is usually a good place to start. https://www.victronenergy.com/upload/documents/Technical-Information-Data-communication-with-Victron-Energy-products_EN.pdf which also contains links to whitepapers etc.
