I am wiring a 100/50 MPPT on my boat, it will go through a lot of wiring to the battery. I plan to have a battery switch that can swap the solar/mppt to my starting battery if ever needed BUT if I have the Battery Sense on my house bank, will this cause issues?
I think this would work for emergency use, but it would require monitoring by you to prevent overcharging of your starting battery.
If you temporarily removed the battery sense from the network, the controller would then regulate based on the voltage it is seeing from your starter battery. This would not be accurate but you could then do other things while you are waiting for starter battery to charge.
