I can't find the answer in the user manual or quick installation guide.
Should it be 50mm2, the same as the cable connecting my batteries together?
I presume the cable for battery to shunt should be the same size as shunt to negative bus.

The cable size needs to be appropriate for your load.
If 50mm2 cable is the correct size for your system then go with that throughout.
Those big brass bolts on the shunt may look a bit daunting, but they are that size in order to accommodate larger systems.
