BMS 12/200 and MultiPlus 12/3000

Hello,
is it possible to connect a MultiPlus 12/3000 to a BMS 12/200?
The datasheet says it should be possible because the BMS will limit the inrush current to 80A for a while and will than switch back to 400A max.

But I know we had a few problems with larger inverters at the BMS 12/200 a few years ago.
The BMS got killed in the moment you connected the inverter due to the high inrush current.
Back then the BMS 12/200 was just released.

Today I got a call from a costumer, he want to upgrade his RV installation.
He already have a Victron Smart LiFePO4, a BMS 12/200 installed and a no-name "3000VA" inverter.
Now he want a MultiPlus 12/3000 but because we made some bad experiences I don't want to sell and install the Multi without being sure it will work and not kill the BMS.

Greetings from Germany

While I got you online lol, (you just answered one of my questions and I found you were the questioner of my next question) What did you end up doing with this? I also have a Multiplus 2 3000 and based on the answer here I am thinking not use the system+... however the 200AMP rating of 12-200BMS seems enough as I thought Multiplus was only 45amps.

No it is not possible to run a MultiPlus 12/3000 from a BMS12/200. The startup current is too high, and if the MultiPlus is running at full power it exceeds the 200A rating of the BMS. And don't forget that a MultiPlus has a 6000W peak rating (this is 500A @12V).

I would recommend to use a Smart BMS CL 12/100.

I thought the only difference between 12/100 and 12/200 is the negative vs positive side. Or I read so in this forum. What difference does that make?

Looking into this? It seems BMS 12-200 has everything 12-100 has to why are you recommending this? To save money since the built in battery protect is not being used?
