Connect phoenix inverter to live mains when switched off

Is it safe to connect the Phoenix inverter to a live 230V AC external power if it remains switched off and will only be switched on (manually) when there's no power in the AC circuit.

This setup is in a boat: when getting shorepower, the inverter remains switched off and only when sailing the Phoenix will be switched on whenever i need 230V AC.

I would not recommend that the Phoenix is not build to get external voltage.
I would recommend to install a automatic (or manual switch) switch like the Hager ESC418.

With an additional contact ( ESC080 ) you can also wire the remote switch of the Phoenix to it to automaticly switch the Phoenix off if shore power is connected.

I'll go look for those switches. But as long as it remains switched off, it would be ok then?
