Tried # 8 12. Volts #7 11.8 volts will not disconnect? Using the inverter to test the battery with a heat gum to lower the voltage . Testing with mult meter .

Would not connect at the start . Just got it today . Should I just return it.
Hi @Dan dowler, the BatteryProtect must not be used to disconnect the main DC line of an inverter; this is a forbidden connection and you may very well have damaged the device by connecting it this way, please see the updated user manuals for these devices for allowed connection methods.
Also, please keep in mind that there is an approximate ~120 second delay between a low-voltage alarm being triggered and the device actually shutting off the load, so it's possible that you didn't wait long enough to observe the actual disconnection.
