Orion Tr DC-DC Converter for Alternator Voltage and Current Regulating

We’re changing from SLA to LiFePo4 for our boat service batteries. The alternator is rated at 60A (not measured the max current as no clamp meter available) and the batteries we’re ordering have BMS cut out at 40A. Would an Orion Tr DC-DC be the right solution to limit the current and also regulate the voltage (14.4V). There is a SLA engine battery that would take any rejected load.
