Smart shunt install

I have a battery bank in my travel trailer and would like to install a smart shunt. I wish I could attach a picture, but currently there's about 4 cables attached to the negative terminal on the 2nd battery (including the jumper to the negative ont he first battery). do all my cables from the negative terminal go to the shunt? what about the wires going to the postive terminal on the battery now?

There are 4 (and only 4) proper ways to parallel batteries; where exactly the shunt will go depends on how they're paralleled. See below.

I'd suggest also reviewing the SmartShunt quick install guide as well as the full user/installation manual prior to purchase just so you're familiar with how it works and get an idea of what you'll need to make it happen!
