M10 to M8 thread adapter on Smart Shunt

My load cable has an M8 ring. I cannot easily replace or safely drill the ring without major effort. Thinking about using a M10-M8 brass thread adapter. Would this work or would it compromise the shunt function?

It might just add more resistance, so watch heat not sure what kind of amps you are talking here, but it won't affect the function of the shunt.

Why not just cut the existing M8 ring terminal off and replace it with a M10 ring terminal? That's all I did.
