Extending EasySolar-II GX with additional Victron MPPT over VE.Direct possible?

Hello everyone,

I have a small Solar system running for a few months and want to optimize my system due to partial shading of two modules. After a little research my plan is to extend my current EasySolar-II GX with an additional SmartSolar MPPT 150/35 and connect them via VE.Direct.

My plan looks like this

I am not sure if it's possible to extend the EasySolar-II with an additional MPPT, I read that it should be possible.

On the other hand, it feels a bit unnatural to connect both devices parallel with the battery without any protection, but logically there shouldn't be a problem since all devices are running 48V.

Do I miss anything? (...before I potentially fry a device ;-) )

Thanks a lot for your answers/comments.

Greetings Adrian

Hi @zimbel

It's ok to do this. I'd normally add a fuse/breaker between the batts, and that goes for the Easysolar too.
