Smart LiFePo4 battery mounting position - on side?

Hi, have a simple question.

Can I mount the battery horizontally in my car? (12 V 100 Ah)

Thanks a lot! David

@sedlacek 2 good reasons not to mount batteries on their side / end.

LiFePo4 batteries have liquid electrolyte in them that may not cover the active films / electrodes when not mounted upright.

Should something bad happen, it might be possible for liquid electrolyte to be vented, rather than gas.

Always mount batteries upright, unless the manufacturer approves otherwise.

Thank you for your answer! That's kind of what I expected. The space underneath is tight even though it is a minivan (the new VW Multivan).

But I'll figure out to mount it upright somehow.
