Smart shunt install in parallel

Is my setup correct for 2 lead acid batteries wired in parallel for smart shunt 500? Does it matter which battery Vbatt positive is connected to? Thanks for your input.1000006267.jpg

Short answer: No. It makes very little difference.

Your shunt is wired correctly. Connect positive to either battery.

Do you have a connection between negative and chassis. If not then no worry. If you do then this should be on the load/system side of the shunt.
