setting low voltage cut out with Victron App

hello,

I have just started setting up my first lithium leisure battery system for a motorhome.

I have ...

- 20A Victron MPPT SmartSolar 100/20

- Victron Phoenix 800W, 12V inverter with smart dongle

- 250W solar panel

My battery does have does not have dedicated BMS so I was hoping to run my load through the MPPT and programme a low voltage cut out voltage via the app.

Similarly i would programme a cut out on via the app for the inverter which will be directly connected to the battery

However, when I did a test set up and set a user defined algorithm to cut out at a high 13.3 V, and plugged in a 12 V fridge and the voltage dropped below 13.3V, the supply to the fridge did not cut out! am i doing something wrong?

Thanks in advance for you help

From my experience trying to get an MPPT 75/15 to do something similiar:

- Did you wait 2 minutes?

For some of the algorithms the relay only activates when the condition has been sustained for 2 minutes.

- Do you have the right user algorithm ?

For one the switch only works when the voltage passes through the threshold in one direction.

i.e. ON > 13.3v may turn it on when it passes above 13.3 V, but not off when it passes below.

You may need the ON > 14.2V OFF < 13.3V for a fridge application, so it only turns on when you have full charge for over 2 minutes and then turns off when passing below 13.3V and staying below that level for 2 minutes.

The other algorithm is set up for a charger, where it turns on passing to below the low voltage and off when it has reached the high voltage.
