BMV-700 Relay Dump Load Control

Hello,

I am using a BMV-700 for my system's battery monitor and i added a dump load into the system to benefit from the excess solar. I used my BMV relay, invetret it, but i can set the SOC values only up to 99%. So when the SOC exceeds the 99% mark, the dump load goes off and the PV throttles down.

Can someone explain to me if i am doing something wrong.

@Billakis what Soc values do you have for the set and clear %.

If you invert the relay, set the clear value (relay closed) to 99%, and the set value (relay open) to 95%, the relay will only be on once the batt gets to 99%, and go off below 95%.

At 99% Soc most batts will be in absorption and pretty much fully charged.

The set value is to 90% and the clear value to 99%. But with the battery at 99,5% the dump load is turned off.

The dump load is 600W and the PV system is 3000W.

Check that the relay mode is set to Default.

Thanks for the response. Apparently the settings was correct, but the dump load (a water heating element) has a self control function that turns off periodically depending on temperature.
