VE.Bus BMS V2 powered off and won’t power up.

Hello,

Our VE.Bus BMS V2 turned itself off last night and we haven’t been able to get it to turn back on. It had shown a low temperature warning but after heating the van this alarm went away, however about half an hour later (while the heater was still on and with no alarms on the BMS) it turned itself off and we haven’t been able to force it back on. We’ve checked all connections leading up to it and power is definitely going into it but stops at the unit with nothing coming out so we are unable to power the Cerbo/anything else. This morning the BMS is still off but the battery is now also giving an under temperature alarm (it was fine last night), however I have now got the battery back up to temperature and still no lights on the BMS/power to the Cerbo. FYI, system was installed yesterday but was working fine all yesterday.

You sound like you have checked the positive feed to the BMS. The negative feed comes from the inverter through the VE Bus cable so it may be worth disconnecting and reconnecting these at both ends. Which inverter do you have and if it is one that requires the mains detector do you have that fitted (see link to the manual below). Do you have mains power available and is the inverter turned on.

The manual has the following in, this may apply to you.

Q2: The batteries are empty, and the inverter/charger will not start to charge; how to get the system up and running again?

Connect a small battery charger, for example, a 5A charger, and wait for the battery voltage to get back up to 12, 24 or 48V (depending on the system voltage).

Should also have said have you checked what the battery voltage, balance and temperature are on VE connect.
