Smartshunt Application in Vehicle

Hi,

Has anyone used a smartshunt to monitor a vehicles starting battery? I have a truck camper that only uses 1 group 27 agm for both starting and running camping accessories. This has plenty of capacity but I would like to be able to monitor it closer.

This can be done, but you need to watch the current rating of the shunt to make sure it won't act as a fuse when you start the engine. Typically you want to look for the lock current rating for the starter motor - usually about 700 - 1000A and have your shunt larger than this.
