Orion DCDC in caravan

Hi folks

Running an Orion DCDC in a caravan - is there any reason to go isolated? I’m running an earth from the tow vehicle anyway and can easily terminate at the negative bus bar, the. Use the same bus bar for the DCDC

There’s not a lot of info out there for caravans it seems mostly around van installs.

I figure the vehicle and the caravan share a ground anyway via the towball, so it’s not like the grounds are isolated even with an isolated dcdc

Thanks!

There should be a good ground through the trailer connector, the ball will be poor.

There's no need for an isolated model.

Make sure cables have good connections and you do need a common ground between the tow vehicle and the caravan.

That’s what I was hoping for :)

I’ll be running 5b&s from the car battery to an Anderson and then to a bus bar - the DCDC will connect to that along with the other caravan loads.
