Smartshunt 500A red AUX cable length

Hi, I just tidied up the wiring in my engine bay and drastically shortened the red AUX Smartshunt wire to about 200mm - now the Smartshunt reports the starter battery voltage consistently as being only about 0.33v although the battery is fully charged (13.1v across the terminals). It always worked perfectly until I shortened the wire. Is the length of the red wire critical for accurate readings, or could it be the new ferrule I fitted not making proper contact?

Thanks.

@andysawa shorter length wire is ok, could be the ferule.

More likely the fuse has been damaged, or the fuse & fuse holder needs cleaning / tightening.
