System Settings: Shore Power, Grid, Generator, Not available. What's the difference?

The Cerbo manual only says

"Select Not available, Generator, Grid or Shore power. Note: additional configuration is required for complete setup of these options."

What does changing these settings do? A multiplus will often not charge properly if AC1 is set to shore power or grid when a generator is connected, but there doesn't seem to be any info on why this is. What happens if there is no cerbo connected, how does the multiplus deal with this issue?

The setting does not affect the inverter. It simply tells the Cerbo where to report data to VRM. It also affects what shows on the VRM dashboard. Shore will add some data that grid doesn’t show, etc.
