Do I need to connect the earth wire on inverter when only using Solar?

Hi,

Can anyone confirm that I still need to attach an earth wire from a Victron 1200w inverter to a van chassis where am intending to just charge a power station type leisure battery (200Ah) with roof top and portable solar panels?

ie: no DCDC type charger being used

Cheers

I hereby confirm that your system must be grounded. :)

The manual states:

This is a Safety Class I product (supplied with a protective grounding terminal).
Uninterruptible protective grounding must be provided at the AC input
and/or output terminals and/or chassis grounding point located externally
on the product.
