Can anyone assist me with this, I think I'm missing something.
We wired and configured successfully a three phase multiplus 5KVA inverter. When it's switched off and using a multimeter reading ACout 2 between L1& L2 (lines) I'm getting a short is this normal?
When we switch it on and reading between L1 & N (phases) I'm getting the 230 which is acceptable.
I would think this would normal as the Neutral connections would end up being common connection between all 3 quattros.
Switch your multimeter to resistant measurement, you should measure a resistant of about 1-2Ohm and that is normal.
There is a bunch of electronics inside.

The transformers inside each Multi/Quattro are connected across the AC output terminals. So you'll read the resistance of the transformer AC winding at the output terminals. Since the units share a common neutral connection you will read low resistance between the hot legs also.
