Is it better to position a DC-to-DC charger close to the starter battery or the leisure battery, in regards to voltage drop. Or doesn't it matter?
It is under my van's passenger seat next to the starter at the moment, and my lithium leisure battery is in the back.
Doesn't really matter if your cables are properly sized. I prefer as close to the leisure battery.
Based on no experience - but the voltage going from your alternator to the Orion will be higher than the voltage going to your house batteries. Even if it is a volt higher - maybe it is slightly worth it to have the higher voltage travel the longer distance? So, Orions near the house batteries?
