SmartShunt Positive Lead Length

I need to add some wire to the positive lead going to the battery so I can install the shunt in a weatherproof/waterproof area. Is this a problem?

The Smartshunt only draws a few mA so extending the wire a couple of meters should not be an issue as voltage drop is tiny. Make sure to use the same gauge wire or thicker and keep the fuse next to the battery.
