Smartshunt Positive connection for storage

I have an RV pull behind trailer. It may set for several months at a time and I turn off the battery so it will not discharge. I do not know if the smartshunt pulls a constant current and if it should have the battery positive connection before the cutoff switch which is a direct battery connection and will be on all the time, or after the cutoff switch so it will not be connected when in storage. What is the best? Thanks

If the VBatt+ is disconnected/switched off, the measuring electronics of the shunt are no longer supplied.

I understand that the shunt will not be working if disconnected. My question is, if it is left connected while in long term storage will it draw a current and run the battery down?
