What fuses (size and type) can I use for the Orion TR 12/24-15 Isolated Charger at the 12v vehicle battery and at the 24v Lynx Distributer sites? The Lynx Distributor only takes Mega fuses. Is a breaker switch a good choice for the 12v battery location? Thank you
Take a look at the manual, it has a section on fuse/cable recommendations. Note you fuse the cable and not the device, aka the fuse is tor protect the cable and not the device.
I’ve already looked at the manual (see illus below), and it lacks any explanation for the 30A and 60A fuses shown. There is not a 30A Méga fuse, so their Lynx is out. No recommendation by Victron for the “type” of fuse and no support for why they recommend a 30A and a 60A for a 15A charger. Both of their recommended fuses exceed the 1.25 factor for sizing DC fuses.
Hopefully a Victron tech will answer this quandary.
