Do I need the AC detector

Hi

I have a multiplus compact 12/1600/70 in my caravan and am adding a Victron 100ah battery with BMS. Do I need to install the AC detector as I intend to be off grid most of the time and using my solar panels to recharge the battery.

As far as I know: No, your solar panels will charge the battery so the system will start up again.
