I've been building an overland rig and have recently set up it's solar generator. I've got a SmartSolar 100/30 charge controller connected to the input of an argo diode 160 2AC isolator splitting the solar charge current between a optima yellow top starter/dual purpose AGM battery and a bank of two Vmax SLR125 AGM deep cycle batteries. I do not have an alternator input line into the isolator. The charge controller is being supplied by two 160w panels. Everything seems to be working fine, but my charge controller keeps turning completely off each night. How should I supply it with 12v power to keep it "awake" during dark hours?
