Multiplus 1200VA 12V Inverter 16A overload warning when on grid

Hi, have a multiplus in my campervan, when hooked up on grid power it show an overload warning when im pulling more that 1200w. Example if my wife is using a hairdryer pulling 1600w. I assumed when on grid we are using power through the hook up, not the inverter. So should its 1200w limit effect the appliances I can use when on grid (hooked up)?

multiple inverters

It is a warning that you are over the limit of the inverter. If grid were to fail the inverter will not be able to carrying the load.

It can transfer the 16A of power through though, it is just letting you know there is a potential for issues. If you are 120v then it is 16a x 120v = 1920va through the system.

I have bypass or change over switch installed for larger loads from shore.
