Cannot loosen green external switch connector on Phoenix VE.Direct

I was trying to connect an external switch to the green connector on the Phoenix VE.Direct inverter and no matter how much I turn the lock screws, the wire loop pre-installed in the green connector will not come loose. I actually cut the wire, stripped it and removed the snap cover to see what was happening inside and I can see the screws are turning, but they do not move up/down to release the wires.

Is there some trick to getting the thing to loosen up or was the screw fixture stripped during assembly? How would I go about getting a new connector for installing the wires to the external switch?

Contact the dealer from whom you bought it or ask a local installer they maybe have a spare connector.
