Correct DC-DC charger to use

Hi Team

I am wanting to use a DC-DC charger on my boat to charge a lithium battery from my starter battery/alternator. My outboard is a Honda 60, and the alternator output is 20 Amps (17 for charging).

The smallest Victrom smart charger appears to be the 12/12-18Amp. Will this be too big, or will the smart charger ruduce its output to what is available from the alternator?

Thanks in advance.
